The ROCKET FREE range was developed to meet the needs of emerging disciplines focused on freefly and downwind. In these sports, freedom is key: the wing or blade is used only for takeoff, before being stowed or set aside to ride the waves and harness the ocean’s energy.

This requires longer boards to improve glide and acceleration, as well as sufficient volume for fast and stable planing. Since takeoffs in these disciplines are more complex than in wing foiling, these boards give you the necessary advantage for a smooth launch.

Following this philosophy, the ROCKET FREE DOWNWIND builds upon the fundamentals of the MIDLENGTH board: natural front/rear balance, stability, and glide, but with greater potential. Its longer shape and elongated outline further enhance glide. A rear step and raised tail help to gain speed quickly and smooth landings. The shallow cockpit maintains control underfoot without adding excessive thickness, and the width-to-thickness ratio achieves the perfect balance between stability and acceleration, even with minimal power.

Compared to the FREE SURF, the FREE DOWNWIND is a more stable board, with greater thickness, a wider nose and bottom, and squarer rails. Foot pressure is slightly concentrated at the front, reminiscent of classic F-ONE boards. It’s designed for riders who prioritize stability and easy takeoffs, even in challenging or choppy conditions.

Built with our bamboo deck, the board remains light and responsive while maintaining its durability and strength. The foil feel is very direct, and control is absolute throughout the session, even at high speeds.

From 6’4″ to 7’8″ (85 to 124 L), the ROCKET FREE DOWNWIND is accessible, versatile and designed for maximum performance, whether you’re looking for offshore waves or prefer to plane with ease in any condition.
